Puissance de Fille (2013)

“Puissance de Fille” roughly translates to Girl Power.
It’s a playful choreography set in the Mod 60’s era in France.  French music or music about France provides the backbone of the piece, and boots bring it on home.

This piece is a big nod to all the fiesty and multidimensional women I have had the pleasure of knowing thus far.  Women have a different kind of strength, I think.  More a resilience type of strength, and a strength in numbers – in how we foster and nurture human connection.  “Puissance de Fille” celebrates that kind of strength, in that The Girls come in to console and distract a heartbroken fellow fille, bringing her back to life.
